Am I too old to start Karate?
Not at all. We welcome members up to ages of 70+. Classes are tailored to suit ability, and everyone progresses at their own pace. It’s never too late to begin your Karate journey.
Do I need to be fit before I begin?
No. Many people start with little or no fitness background. Karate training will help you gradually improve strength, flexibility, and stamina while having fun in a safe, supportive environment.
What should I wear or bring to my first class?
All you need is comfortable sportswear and a bottle of water. If you decide to continue, then our membership packages offer everything you need to get started.
How often should I train to see real improvement?
Most beginners start with one or two classes a week. Consistency is more important than intensity, and you’ll notice improvements in confidence, focus, and fitness within just a few weeks of regular training.
Is Karate safe?
Yes — Karate is one of the safest activities to pursue because health, control, and respect are at the core of our teaching. All classes are supervised by qualified, DBS-checked instructors, and training is always age/experience appropriate. We focus on mastering key movement principles, forging discipline, and self-development, so members can build high-quality skill and confidence in a structured and progressive environment.
